 Dec. 23, 2003, William "Bill" Kenion of the 1000 block of DuBois Drive, slipped
quietly and peacefully into the loving arms of his Father at Sentara Leigh
Hospital. Born in Durham, N.C., to William and Sadie Kenion , he was a retired
logistics supervisor at Norfolk Naval Base after 32 years. He also retired from
the U.S. Navy and Reserves.

He was a longtime member of St. Pauls AME Church where he served as a trustee,
deacon and member of the choir. Most recently, he became a member of Bethany
Baptist Church in Chesapeake.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Lorraine Kenion ; two
daughters, Connie Portlock (William) and Sharon Wilkins (Bob); three sons, Earl
Woods (Phyllis), Gregory Kenion (Vonda) and Anthony Kenion (Annette); a loving
sister, Deloris Paulin; 15 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; along with
a host of relatives and friends.

His parents, William Kenion Sr. and Sadie Latta Kenion ; four sisters, Annie,
Mary, Irene and Oneta; and a brother, Melvin C. Kenion , predeceased him.

A funeral will be held at noon Monday at Bethany Baptist Church by Dr. Jake
Manley. Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Cemetery, Norfolk. Family will
assemble at 1065 DuBois Drive at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church. Hale
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
