Norfolk Landmark September 30, 1902
William Doughtie Kennedy, the two-year-old son of Captain and Mrs. C. W. Kennedy, 
of Bowden's Ferry Road, died at the family residence yesterday morning at 2:25 
o'clock of typhoid fever. The child had been sick for about two weeks. Indications 
were favorable to the child's recovery until a few days ago when membranous croup 
developed, which produced death. The funeral will take place this morning from the 
family residence. The Rev. George W. Cox will read the burial service. Interment 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
