Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Church, Norfolk, Va., FRIDAY, January 24, at 1 p.m. Friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private. **************** William H. Kennedy, a native of Scotland and formerly of this city, died Tuesday night in Memphis, Tenn. His body will be brought to this city for burial and the funeral will take place from St. Paul's Church tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. Mr. Kennedy came to this country from Scotland in 1885 and settled in Norfolk. He was extensively engaged in the cotton business and after a long time in this city moved to Memphis. He is survived by a widow, who was a Miss Sarah Tredwell, daughter of Adam Tredwell. ********************************************************************* The remains of the late William Holder Kennedy, a former resident of Norfolk, who passed away at his home in Memphis, Tenn. Tuesday night, did not arrive in Norfolk until 5:30 o'clock yesterday evening on account of the train on which his body was being conveyed to the city failing to make connection. Therefore the funeral, which was to have taken place yesterday afternoon, has been postponed until eleven o'clock this morning at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Virginian Pilot Saturday, January 25, 1908 ******************************************************************************* The remains of William Holder Kennedy arrived in Norfolk Friday evening from Memphis, Tenn., accompanied by relatives and friends. The funeral was solemnized from St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 11 o'clock yesterday morning and was numerously attended, including the following committee from the Norfolk and Portsmouth Exchange: Thomas A. Jones, Fergus Reid, John N. Vaughan, R.S. Dawson, George L. Arps, J.W. Perry, Judge M.L. Eure, W.M. Simpson, S.B. Harrell, Thomas R. Cooke, W.M. Jones Jr., Edgar Nash, Walter Boone and C.C. Cobb. The service was conducted by Bishop B.D. Tucker, D.D. and the rector, Rev. James M. Owens. There was a magnificent display of floral designs, many of them being sent from Memphis. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery and the pallbearers were as follows: B. Watkins Leigh, Fergus Reid, H.T. Campbell, James U. Goode, John N. Vaughan, Caldwell Hardy, F.E. Wilcox and Dr. W.E. Driver.
