NORFOLK - Mrs. Sarah Kathryne McDermin Kennedy, 84, widow of Jeremiah Aloysius 
Kennedy and daughter of James and Mrs. Catherine McDermin, died Tuesday at 4:45 
a.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, lately at 937 Harrington Ave.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Sodality of the Blessed 
Virgin Mary.
Survivors include a son, Robert E. L. Kennedy of Washington; two sisters, Mrs. 
M. J. Murphy and Mrs. E. L. Cote of Norfolk; a brother, Thomas McDermin of 
Darby, Pa.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for a funeral service Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral Apartments Thursday 
at 7:30 p.m.
