VIRGINIA BEACH — Margaret V. (Peg) Kennedy, 72, of 640 Thalia Point Road died 
Tuesday in a hospital.
She was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic 
Church.
Survivors include her husband, M.W. (Maury) Kennedy; three daughters, Margaret 
M. Akey of Virginia Beach, Patricia A. Grande of Baltimore and Joyce K. Martz of 
Liberty, N.C.; two sons, James F. Kennedy of Durham, N.C., and Maurice W. 
Kennedy Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grand-
children.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Nicholas 
Catholic Church by the Rev. John Grace. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A 
luncheon will be held in the Parish House after the graveside service.
A Christian wake will be held at 7 p.m. today in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Kempsville Chapel. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today 
and at a daughter's home, 5042 Eaton Court, Kempshire Townhouses, Virginia 
Beach.
Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the Heart 
Fund.
