ANDREW J. KERNS Mr. Andrew J. Kerns, a native of Pennsylvania, but who has resided and done business in Norfolk for the past twenty-two years, died suddenly at his residence, 406 Park avenue, yesterday at 1:30 o'clock. He was a veteran of the Civil War and served gallantly with the New York National Guard and Pennsylvania volunteers. Mr. Kerns leaves a widow and the following children: Mrs. Clarence H. Williamson, Mrs. Charles H. Meakins, Mrs. Leonard Hyslop, Misses Kittie M., Gertrude F., Grace M. and Andrew J. and Howard J. Kerns; also a brother and sister, Mr. James Kerns, of Cranston, R.I. and Mrs. Charles Craig, Fort Myer, Ind. The funeral will be held from the residence Saturday at 12 o'clock p.m. and will be conducted by Rev. C.E. Woodson of St. Peter's Church. ****************** KERNS - At the residence, No. 406 South Park Avenue, Thursday, April 2, 1903, at 1:30 o'clock p.m., ANDREW JACKSON KERNS, in the 71st year of his age. Funeral services from the above residence TOMORROW (Saturday), at 12 o'clock p.m. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment private.
