Kerns, widow of Andrew J. Kerns, died at 9:05 o'clock last night at the residence, 406 Fairfax Avenue. Mrs. Kerns was a native of New York State and had been a resident of Norfolk forty years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. E.J. Wilson, of Brooklyn, five daughters, Mrs. C.H. Williamson, Miss Katherine M. Kerns, Mrs. C.H. Meakin, Miss Gertrude F. Kerns and Miss Grace M. Kerns, the latter of New York; two sons, A.J. Kerns, of Richmond and Howard J. Kerns,, of Hamilton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Kerns was a great-niece of Daniel D. Tompkins, former governor of New York, and a descendant of Captain John Underhill, of Plymouth Colony. She was a member of Underhill Society, New York and of St. Paul's Church here.
