Glennan, 503 Olney Road, after a six days’ illness, diagnosed by attending physicians as a pernicious type of malaria. Although apparently well on Sunday, Mr. Kevill experienced a slight chill Monday which gradually increased. Tuesday night he became unconscious and remained in that condition up to the time of his death, except for a short interval. Dr. Levi Old was summoned and called in to consultation Drs. Lomax Gwathmey, W. L. Harris and M. A. Newman. Mr. Kevill’s condition continued to grow worse, despite the efforts of the physicians. Mr. Kevill was 42 years old. He was the son of the late Captain Thomas and Mrs. Augustine L. Kevill. He was a native of Norfolk and was very popular. He had worked on the old Norfolk Virginian for a number of years and, up until a short time ago, he had been connected with the Old Dominion Steamship Company. When the Spanish-American war broke out, Mr. Kevill enlisted in Company E. Fourth Virginia Regiment, which was commanded by Captain T. J. Nottingham. He saw service in Cuba and returned to Norfolk at the close of the war. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary K. Glennan of Norfolk and Mrs. James E. Allen of Virginia Beach, and one brother, T. Frank Kevill, of New York city. The funeral will take place at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The service will be conducted by Rev. A. J. Halbleib.
