Kiah, Music Teacher and School Librarian VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Laura Elizabeth Kiah of 1016 Fairlawn Ave., the widow of Hamilton G. Kiah Sr. and for many years a music teacher in Norfolk public schools, died Thursday morning in a hospital. Mrs. Kiah, a native of Charleston, S.C., recently transferred her work to media services and was employed at Oakwood Elementary School as a librarian. She achieved a master's degree in music and a degree in library science. She was a member of Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and Norfolk Teachers Association. She was a member of Bank Street Baptist Church and served on its prayer garden committee and was a member of the booster organization. She taught in the Norfolk schools for 29 years. Survivors include two sons, H. Gregory Kiah II and William Randolph Iah of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Irving Peddrew of Hampton; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. C.E. Griffin. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
