Kiernan, for many years a well known business man of Norfolk, in the stove and tinware trade, died at 6 a.m. today, at his home, No. 812 Duke Street, after six months illness, aged 54 years. He was a native of New York City and had lived here over 40 years. He was very highly esteemed and had a great many friends. He was a director in the Twin City Building Association and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and I. O. Red Men. He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. McCracken, wife of Lieutenant J.J. McCracken, U.S. Navy, residing at Guam and Misses Julia, Capitola, Sue and Jim Kiernan, all of Norfolk, and a brother, Thomas Kiernan, of Norfolk. The funeral occurs at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which he was a communicant.
