A native and lifelong resident of this area, he was the husband of Mrs. Hazel Barnes Kight and the son of Mrs. Blanche Kight. He retired from Civil Service after 33 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; a member of Kempsville Masonic Lodge 196; 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Bodies; and a member of LeKies United Methodist Church. Other survivors include two sons, Larry Clinton Kight and Alvah Douglas Kight, both of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, Benjamin Jeffrey Barnes and Randolph Thomas Barnes, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Joyce Roig of Virginia Beach; and a grandson. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
