Bishop David C. Love, of Richmond, state overseer of the Churches of God in Christ in Virginia, will deliver the principal eulogy. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Arrangements are being handled by Wheeler's Funeral Home of Portsmouth. Elder King was a native of Washington NC, and resided in Norfolk prior to taking up residence in Portsmouth about 15 years ago. At the time of his death, he made his home at 1609 Chestnut street. He had been pastor of St. James Church for approximately 20 years. Prior to this pastorate, he had been pastor of Union Bethel Church of God in Christ, Hattonsville. Elder King was affiliated with the Portsmouth Ministers' Forum. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jessie B. King of Portsmouth; 2 sons, James King of Portsmouth, and Pvt. Howard King, U.S. Army, of Springfield MA; two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Hunter and Miss Cleo King, both of Washington DC; eight grandchildren; father, James Edward King, of Washington DC; three brothers, Robert King of Norfolk; Eddie Lee King of Baltimore; and James B. King of Washington NC; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Sutton, Mrs. Helen Stewart and Mrs. Ethel Riddick, all of Norfolk.
