Mrs. Sallie P. King, formerly of Norfolk, died February 14 in Baltimore, MD at 
the age of 69.  She was born in Macon, NC, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. 
Rufus Harvey and the widow of Paul King.

She was a member of the Missionary Club of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  Surviving 
her are a daughter, Mrs. Jennie V. Evans, Washington, DC;  two sisters, Mrs. 
Josephine Taylor, city, and Mrs. Bessie Ovlesby, Baltimore MD;  nieces and 
nephews.

Funeral services were conducted February 19 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with 
the pastor, Rev. R. T. Adams officiating.  Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery, 
Thursday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m.  Pretlow’s Funeral Home was in charge.
