The Virginian-Pilot, Saturday, August 5, 1978

NORFOLK - Emmett M. King of 2908 East Virginia Beach., the husband of the late 
Mrs. Mary H. King and a Suffolk native, died Thursday in a hospital.

He was retired from the Postal Service after 38 years.

Surviving include a daughter, Mrs. Helena King Payton of Norfolk; two sons, Dr. 
John Winston King of Norfolk and Robert L. King of Washington; seven 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Sunday at noon in Riddick Funeral Service Chapel by the 
Rev. William DeLoatch. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be at 
the home of Dr. John W. King of 979 Anna St.
