VIRGINIA BEACH - Phyllis J. King, 60, of the 4500 block of Bob Jones Drive, passed 
away peacefully surrounded by family and friends Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, in the 
hospital.

A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by 
all who knew her especially her little sweet girl and baby girl.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband of 39 years, Samuel L. King III; 
daughter, Michele B. King - Smith (Andrew); son, Kenneth J. King ; granddaughters, 
Kaelynn and Leeanna Smith; sister-in-law, Joyce K. Gilbert; mother, Barbara 
Jenkins; and brother, Michael Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her father, 
James E. Jenkins Jr.

A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road 
Chapel, and the family will receive friends until 9 p.m. A joyful Mass of 
Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at St. Gregory the 
Great Catholic Church, followed by the burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A 
reception will immediately follow the burial at the church social hall.
