King, 74, of the York Hotel, died Friday at midnight at a Norfolk hospital after a brief illness. Until a few weeks ago, he had been employed as night manager of the York Hotel. He had been employed previously as deputy city sergeant and deputy high constable and at one time was an agent of the Nowitzky Bureau of Investigation. A veteran of the Spanish American War, he was a member of Norfolk Lodge 39, Loyal Order of Moose. His body was taken to the George P. Gregory Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements. Thomas J. King - Funeral services for Mr. King were conducted at the George P. Gregory Funeral Home yesterday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. E. V. Johnston, rector of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Members of Norfolk Lodge No. 39, Loyal Order of Moose, served as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers were E. J. Fraim, Lee Lawler, Chestley A. Ford, Barry M. Wolf, J. D. Fritzinger and P. E. Abiouness. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
