A native of Emporia, he was the husband of Mrs. Elmira King. He was retired from E. V. Williams Construction Co. after 9 years. He was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church, Emporia. Besides his widow, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Harrison of Baltimore and Miss Patricia King of Newport News; a son, Weaver King of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held April 27 in First Church of Christ Holiness by Bishop W. A. Brown. Burial was in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home was in charge.
