The Virginian Pilot Thursday September 21, 1978
William Haigh Kirby, 71, of 2836 Somme Ave., Apt. 3, a retired salesman for 
Home Furniture Co. and a native of Berkley, died Tuesday in his home.
He was a member of Norview Baptist Church and the 60 Plus Club.
Survivors include a son, Capt. William Meredith Kirby of the Army, stationed 
at Huntsville, Ala., four sisters, Mrs. Harriet K. Smith and Mrs. Eileen K. 
Gunn of Norfolk, Mrs. Sarah K. Fayen of Vancouver, Wash. and Mrs. Alida K. 
Daniel of Virginia Beach, and two grandchildren.
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, 
for a funeral Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley, by the Rev. 
Joel L. Morgan.
