Virginian-Pilot February 14, 1977
WILLIAMSBURG - Mrs. Mary Ware Galt Kirby, 84, of Old Galt House, Francis Street, 
died Sunday in a hospital.
A native of Norfolk, she was a member of Bruton Parish Church; a member of the 
Virginia Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities; Colonial 
Dames; Daughters of the Founders & Patriots; Daughters of Colonial Wars; and 
Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anne Galt Black of Wellesley, Mass.; and 
three grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Bruton Parish Church by Dr. 
Cotesworth P. Lewis, and the Rev. David Petrault. Burial will be in Elmworth 
(sic) Cemetery, Norfolk. The family suggests memorials to the Heart Fund. J. W. 
Garrison & Sons Funeral Home has charge.
