                     MRS. JAMES KIRKWOOD PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Carrie Kirkwood, wife of James Kirkwood, died last night at 10 :30 
o'clock of heart trouble at the family residence, No. 11 Clifton street, 
after an illness of about two months.
Mrs. Kirkwood was born in England and was the daughter of the late James 
Ringnal, later of Lockport, N.Y., where her mother still resides.  She had 
been a resident of Berkley about eighteen years, during which time she had 
won the highest esteem of a large circle of friends, to whom her death will 
cause a great shock.
The deceased would have been 56 years of age in November.
Besides her husband she leaves three sons and five daughters.  The sons are: 
James, Walter, and George Kirkwood; the daughters are: Misses Bertha and 
Tilley Kirkwood; Mrs. Frank Yeager, Mrs. M. Richardson, the latter of 
Portsmouth and Mrs. F. Drummond, of Berkley.

The funeral of Mrs. James Kirkwood, who died at the family residence, No. 11 
Clifton street, Tuesday evening, was conducted from the residence yesterday 
afternoon at 4 o'clock.  Rev. C.S. Lingamfelter, pastor of Armstrong 
Memorial Presbyterian Church, officiated.  The attendance was large and 
there was a profusion of flowers.  The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
The following gentlemen were pallbearers:  Robert Davis, Walter Pearson, Joe 
Lawrence, John Whetstone, John W. Gregory and John Rogers.
