Mr. Kirkwood was a native of Scotland, a son of the late James and Mrs. Elizabeth Kirkwood and is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Drummond, Mrs. Frank Yeager, Mrs. Fritz Jochum, of Norfolk; Mrs. Gus Muhler, Philadelphia; Mrs. Melvin, of Newport News; three sons, George A. Kirkwood, Victoria, Va.; Walter Kirkwood, Norfolk and James Kirkwood, Elizabeth City, N.C. The body will arrive here this morning from Washington and will be taken to the residence of Mrs. Jochum, on Clifton street, pending funeral arrangements. ************ James Kirkwood -- Funeral services for Mr. Kirkwood, whose remains arrived yesterday morning from Washington, D.C., where he died Friday, will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock from Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. The pastor, the Rev. Willis Thompson, will conduct the services and interment will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
