Kite, 89, of the 1500 block of Harmon St., died Feb. 4, 2001. Mrs. Kite was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude Crutsinger. She was the widow of Roland C. Kite. She retired in 1973 from the U.S. Naval Supply Center after many years and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk, and the Civilian Employees of the Norfolk Naval Supply Center. Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Scherrep of Roanoke and Anita N. Mitchell of Norfolk; her stepson, Robert Eldridge of Peoria, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Steve Scherrep, Sam Scherrep, Michael Scherrep, Julia Bryant, Gray Newman, Grace Myers and Alexandra Newman; and several great-grandchildren and other family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father Frances M. Muench. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts.
