Kitzmiller, 78, retired secretary of the Steamboat Inspectors Office, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 5:50 p.m., after a short illness. He was a native of Ilion, N.Y., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 49 years, recently making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Willie Magness, 5502 Pamlico Circle, Norview. Mr. Kitzmiller is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willie Emma Kitzmiller; one other daughter, Mrs. Mamie B. Kierstead, of Brandywine, Md.; two sons, George W. Kitzmiller, of Washington, and Harold B. Kitzmiller, of Jersey City, N.J.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Kitzmiller was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Funeral services will be conducted at the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
