NORFOLK - John Joseph Klein Jr., of the 1800 block of Banning Road, passed away 
Feb. 12, 2009.

John was the retired owner of Andrews-Klein Machine Company. He was a member of 
St. Pius X Catholic Church. John was a U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve veteran and a 
former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Frances McMahon Klein; a daughter, 
Jane P.K. Hammond and husband, Gary of Norfolk; three sons, John J. Klein III of 
Florida, Michael Klein of Burlington, Vt., and Robert F. Klein of Worcester, 
Mass.; and two grandchildren, Jonathan D. Hammond of Richmond and Jennifer M. 
Hammond of New York City. He was predeceased by a son, Phillip D. Klein.

A private funeral was held in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. 
Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorials, in lieu of 
flowers, may be made to Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads. Condolences may be
