He was the husband of Mrs. Margaret Rauscher Klepper and resided here at 12th street and Mediterranean avenue. A native of Norfolk, son of Joseph and Mrs. Julia Schopf Klepper. He had made his home at the beach the last 20 years. At the time of his illness, he was employed by the Coastal Engineering Co., naval architects and marine engineers, of Norfolk. Mr. Klepper ended more than three decades of government service when he retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard May 31, 1955. A 1909 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, he took a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering. Later he completed a number of courses at the University of Virginia, including one on naval architecture. Prior to his employment at the Naval Shipyard, he had varied engineer experience with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, Instrument & Browning Engineering Co., of Cleveland, the National Sheet & Tube Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; the Aluminum Corp. of America, Ogdensburg, N.Y.; Hoff-Dalen Aircraft Co. and the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, Langley Air Force Base.
