A native of Norfolk, he had lived at the Administration Center for the last year. During that time he worked in the duplicating office in the Veterans Hospital. He was retired from the Reworks Facility at Norfolk Naval Air Station. A Methodist, he was a graduate of Maury High School. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Central YMCA. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lena Rose K. Conley; and a brother, John P. Knecht Jr., of Norfolk. A funeral will be held in Elmwood Cemetery on Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Woodrow A. Giles and the Rev. C. Ambrose Turner. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, has charge. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.
