 The Virginian Pilot Friday October 31, 1969
Mrs. Mary Newberry Knight, 93, of 7740 Dunfield Place died Thursday at 2:30 
a.m. in her home after a long illness.
A native of Washington County, N.C., she lived here 70 years.  She was the 
widow of William Alexander Knight and a daughter of Abram J. and Mrs. 
Deborah Freeman Newberry.
She was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church and its Sunshine Club and 
Friendship Eastern Star Chapter 57.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Mary R. Knight of Norfolk; three sons, 
William N. Knight, Harry H. Knight, and John E. Knight of Chesapeake; 12 
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, to 
Magnolia Cemetery for a funeral service Saturday at 3 p.m. by Dr. Ernest L. 
Honts and the Rev. W. Thomas Wood.
The family will assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
