Virginian Pilot April 1, 1909

Adam Knight, 75 years old, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock at his 
residence, 908 Eleventh street, after a brief illness.  The deceased was a 
native of Petersburg, Va. and is survived by a wife and eight children.  He 
had been a resident of Berkley ward for five years, where he was well known 
and esteemed.  He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
The children are Mrs. Richard Fields, Mrs Thomas Bassett, Mrs. Edward 
Bassett, Mrs. William Savage, Mrs. Henry Cousins and Messrs. John W., James 
E. and Charles E. Knight.
The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Liberty 
Street M.E. Church, South Norfolk and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. 
R.B. Scott.
The remains will be laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery.
