NORFOLK - John Norman Knight of the 2400 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., died
May 15, 2003, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Princess Anne County, Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his wife, Mary
Ellen Knight. He was a self-employed cement finisher and a Baptist.

Survivors include five daughters, Essie Stephens, Carolyn Whitty and Daisey
Benton, all of Norfolk, Evelyn Brown of Virginia Beach, Earlene Evans and
husband John W. of Virginia Beach; a son, Jessie Stephens of Norfolk; three
sisters, Lenora Knight and Catherine Gray, both of Virginia Beach and Delores
Knight of Norfolk; six brothers, Frank Knight, Robert Knight, Earl Knight and
Isiah Knight, all of Virginia Beach, Clyde Knight of New York, Ernest Knight of
Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,
other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be at noon Wednesday in Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready for viewing from
3:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The family will assemble at 11 a.m. at 553 Featherstone
Court, Virginia Beach. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in
