Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark October 4, 1928

James Knight, aged 75, died yesterday afternoon at 1:55 o'clock at the 
family residence, 615 E. Liberty street, after a long illness.  Born in 
Australia, he had lived in this section 35 years and was well known.  He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Knight; two daughters, Mrs. C.A. Elliott 
and Mrs. Noah Byrum; two sons, Nicholson Knight, of Suffolk and James 
Knight, Jr., of Norfolk and six grandchildren.
The body was taken to the funeral home of E. Lee Cox, 124 East Berkley 
avenue, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 
o'clock.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
