Knight, an aged citizen, died at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Rogers, B and Eighteenth streets, South Norfolk, Sunday night, after a brief illness. Mr. Knight left his home, 712 Lee street, Sunday afternoon to pay a brief visit to Mr. Rogers and shortly after his arrival he was taken sick and continued to grow worse until the end came. He was a native of Gates county, N.C., but had been a resident of this section for the past 25 years, was well known and respected. He was in the 78th year of his age and is survived by six sons and daughters-- Mrs. T.A. Simpson, Mrs. J.C. Brothers, Miss Alice Knight, D. Warren Knight, Mrs. J.P. Jordan. The funeral will be conducted from the undertaking establishment of E. Lee Cox this afternoon at 2 o'clock and Rev. E. S. Pierce, pastor of the South Norfolk Baptist church, will officiate, and interment will be in Magnolia cemetery.
