The Norfolk Virginian, April 07, 1897

There were two sudden deaths yesterday, Charles Knorr, an upholsterer, aged 
about 50 years, while sitting at a meal in Amos Jordan’s lunch room, on Roanoke 
Avenue, shortly after noon, suddenly fell over in his seat and was dead before 
help could reach him. His death was due to sudden heart failure.
The other victim was Henry Harris, a colored man, who lived on Talbot Street. 
He was seized with a spasm in front of the City Hall at 5:30 o’clock in the 
morning and expired before assistance could reach him.
