He was a native of Butler, PA and a resident of Norfolk since 1948. Bob was the son of the late Karl and Gertrude Groutt Koch and was preceded in death by his daughter, Ginny K. Frye, his son, Bobby Koch Jr, his brother, Jack Koch, his grandson, Charles Avery Koch, and his son-in-law, Shawn O'Connor. He graduated from Butler High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Bob attended the University Of Virginia School Of Bank Management and studied music at Old Dominion University. After a long career in the banking industry he retired as a Bank Officer from Wachovia Bank. Bob is a Past Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus Ocean View Council #3548, Past President of the Chesapeake Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Ryan Club of Norfolk, and a member of the Norfolk Rotary Club. He sang with the Opera Workshop at Old Dominion University and with the Norfolk Civic Chorus. He was a soloist at both the N.A.S. and the N.O.B. chapels. Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Jacqueline Harrell Koch of Norfolk. His daughters: Terry Koch O'Connor, Vicki K. Foglia (Bob), and Mary Jo Koch. His sons: Stephen A. Koch, Charles M. Koch, and Richard J. Koch (Vicki McLeod). His sister, Mary Jo Koch, of Butler, PA, his brother, Karl M. Koch, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Endicott, NY, and Jean Koch of Greenacres, FL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Jessica, Erica, Amanda, Jack Jr, Robbie, Austin, Matthew, Caroline, Ricky and Jacqueline; 14 great grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Diane Wall, and his son-in-law, Jack Frye. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Monday, January 15, 2018, at 2:00pm, with the Reverend Father W. Daniel Beaman officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Food Pantry or The American Cancer Society. H.D.
