NORFOLK - Charles Andras Kovacs Sr., 78, husband of Mrs. Aranka Goldie Kovacs 
and son of the late Anthony and Mrs. Hermina Turze Harvath Kovacs, died at 4 
a.m. Saturday at his residence near Blackwater in Princess Anne County.
Mr. Kovacs, a farmer, was a native of Hungary and had lived in this section 
since 1907.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rose Laytay of San 
Diego, Mrs. Harold Davis of Spring Valley, Calif., and Mrs. George A. Woody and 
Mrs. Charles Marks of St. Brides; four sons, Charles Kovacs Jr., Emery Kovacs, 
Sam Kovacs and Tony Kovacs of St. Bridges; 13 grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Harris Finlay, pastor of St. Matthew’s 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
