Mr. Kraemer last night attended a meeting of Rotary Club group leaders at the home of Herman W. Rether, of 1124 Westmoreland avenue, Larchmont, where plans for a meeting to be held the night of January 11 were discussed. The meeting broke up about 11:30 o'clock. Shortly before 1 o'clock when Mr. Kraemer had failed to reach his home in the Toxaway Court Apartments, 1019 Colonial avenue, his son, J. Vance Kraemer, began an investigation. He learned that his father had left the Rether home about the same time the others did, driving his own car and alone. With a party of friends, he immediately started a search and found Mr. Kraemer dead in his car, not 50 yards from the Rether home. It was evident that Mr. Kraemer was stricken soon after starting his automobile. He had backed out from his parking place and the car had hit a tree. Whether the fact that he had been stricken caused the car to strike the tree or whether the sudden shock of hitting it brought on the attack was a matter of conjecture. Mr. Kraemer had been dead about two hours when found. Dr. M. P. Doyle, who was called, examined the body and expressed the opinion that death was due to heart disease. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Lillian A. Kraemer, and the son, Vance, who was with the party that found the body, Mr. Kraemer is survived by another son, Karl Kraemer, who is connected with the Virginia Portland Cement Company and who last night was en route to the general offices of the company in New York. A telegram recalling him was sent early this morning. Mr. Kraemer was widely known and had taken an active part in the civic and business life of Norfolk for a number of years. He was a charter member of the Rotary Club and last summer was elected as its president. The meeting he attended last night was in interest of a 1OO per cent attendance for the meeting next week. Friends said Mr. Kraemer appeared in splendid health last night and made no mention of feeling ill at any time. Detective Leon Nowitzky, coroner's investigator, viewed the body and said no inquest would be necessary as death was due to natural causes. ither the car nor the tree was damaged, indicating the impact was light.
