Krise Jr., or more fondly known as Captain Krise, of Kings Fork Road, died June 13, 2004. He was 94 years old. Ellsworth was born in Norfolk, the son of the late Blanche C. and Albert E. Krise Sr. He was also predeceased by his wife, Lanier Grubbs Krise. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Krise Gray of Suffolk and a son, Albert Ellsworth Krise III (Buddy) and his wife, Sandra, of Norfolk; four grandchildren, John Ellsworth Krise and his wife, Cheryl, of Chesapeake, Nathaniel Thomas Gray III "Tommy" of Florida, Sheryl Krise Jones and her husband, Shannon, of Norfolk and Linda Krise Barnes and her husband, Mark, of Orange Park, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Terry, Kathy, Olivia and Ashley; his devoted caregiver, Mrs. Linda Horton; and a good friend, Linda Presson Rawlinson. Ellsworth was the oldest living alumni of Norfolk Academy. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 60 years, during which time he served as captain of the port during World War II. He joined the U.S. Power Squad over 50 years ago, starting with the Elizabeth River Power Squad and then transferring into the Nansemond River Power Squad, where he was a life member. He was a charter member of Tidewater Boat Club and a member of Great Bridge Cruise Club. The family will receive friends at Parr Funeral Home, 447 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at the residence of Christina K. Gray and Buddy Krise. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk. A reception will follow the ceremony of the Tidewater Boat Club at 46th Street, Colley Avenue, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
