E. Krise yesterday morning at a hospital here after an illness of many months. Even during her hours of suffering, Mrs. Krise kept her interest in her friends and her work. She was chairman of the Civics Department of the Woman's Club and, although she was unable to be present at many of the meetings, aided in arrangements for them. A resolution was passed by a group of women at the Y. W. C. A. yesterday afternoon, members of the seven Parent-Teacher Associations in the city, expressing their grief at Mrs. Krise's death. This will be sent to the State Board, of which she was a member and a pioneer worker in this field. She was, at all times, an ardent sponsor of public causes, and was the first president of the Walter Herron Taylor Home and School League in which she inaugurated many reforms afterwards effected. She was president of the Melody Club, and a member of the National "Better Films" Committee. She was a charter member of the Woman's Club, had been chairman of the Music Department, and was, at the time of her death, chairman of the Civics Department, the most important of all the club's activities. Mrs. Krise was a native of Norfolk and had spent her entire life here, quietly doing an immense amount of good in many fields. Her loss is felt by many classes and many groups. Her work in civic, educational and philanthropic fields has gained for her the admiration and love of hundreds. Mrs. Krise was the only daughter of S. Q. and Octavia Collins. She is survived also by her husband, a son, Ellsworth Krise, and two brothers, Paul T., and S. Q. Collins, Jr. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Colonial and Spottswood avenues, tomorrow at noon. The Rev. John H. Griffith, archdeacon of Western North Carolina, and the Rev. D. W. Howard, D.D., rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
