She had retired after 27 years as a secretary for the Virginia Truck and Ornamental Research Center of Norfolk. Born in Corinth, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Sue Brown Lam and Walter C. Lam. Miss Lam was a graduate of The College of William and Mary, Class of 1931, and a member since 1932 and former deacon of First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk. Survivors include three cousins, Jane B. Elmer and Richard C. Brown, M.D., both of Norfolk and C. Thompson Brown of Atlanta, Ga. A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial service will also be conducted at Westminster-Canterbury on the Bay at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Overseas Medical Fund, P.O. Box 3365, Charlottesville, VA 22903 or to the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 405 S.
