Spence Manuel Lamb of Norfolk, Va., formerly of York died December 30 at home after a lengthy illness. A native of Hickory, Va., she was a member of Wesley Union AME Zion Church, Norfolk. Mrs. Lamb was the wife of the late Rev. V.H. Manuel, former pastor of Small Memorial AME Zion Church, York, and the late T.L. Lamb. She leaves seven sons, Víctor Manuel, Los Angeles, Lin Manuel, Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Josiah Manuel, Paris Manuel, Cameron Manuel, John Manuel and David Manuel, all of Norfolk; two daughters, Rosa belle Colston, York, and Hattie Williams, Fayetteville, N.C.; 29 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Spence Jr., Virginia Beach, Va., and Columbus Spence, Chesapeake, Va.; and five sisters, Arizona Wilson, Baltimore, Rethella White, Chesapeake, and Mattie Dowtin, Mable Reid and Ernestine Ellis, all of Norfolk. The service was in Greater Metropolitan AME Zion Church, Norfolk, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk.
