Norfolk Landmark, Wed., Oct. 5, 1898


Lambeth-At her residence, Lawrence Avenue, Lambert’s Point, Tuesday September 
4, 1898 (should be Oct 4th) at 11 o’clock a.m., Mattie A. beloved wife of 
Charles H. Lambeth, in the 25th year of her age.
The funeral will take place from the Zion M.E. Church this (Wednesday) at 3 
o’clock. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend.

Norfolk Landmark Thurs., Oct. 6, 1898

The funeral of Mrs. Mattie A. Lambeth, wife of Charles H. Lambeth, who died at 
her home, Lawrence Avenue, Lamberts Point, Tuesday, took place from Zion’s M.E. 
Church, Lambert’s Point, yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The services were 
conducted by the Rev. George H. Spooner, and the interment was in Elmwood 
Cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs. T.G. Harman, R.W. Brown, W.A. Raney, 
R.T. Smith, I.T. Owens and H.C. Ludy.
