NORFOLK — Mrs. Verna Wilson Halstead Lamerdin, 88, of Hague Park Apartments died 
in her home Saturday morning.
A lifelong resident of this area, she was the widow of William Lewis Lamerdin and 
a daughter of Dr. George Nolley Halstead and Mrs. Margaret Wilson Halstead.
She is survived by two nieces.
A funeral service will be held in Elmwood Cemetery Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. 
John Lyles of First Presbyterian Church, Virginia Beach. H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, has charge.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Society for 
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
