The Virginian Pilot Thursday July 12, 1956
Mrs. Leta Cartwright Lamm, 64, wife of Robert Lee Lamm of 1239 Seaboard 
Ave., died Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of 
one week.
A native of Hyde County, N.C., she had made her home here 40 years. She was 
a member of the Soul Methodist Church at Swan Quarter, N.C. Her late parents 
were John Robert and Mrs. Mary Swindell Cartwright.
Besides her husband, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Larry Peake of 
Memphis, Tenn.; one stepson, Linwood F. Harlow of Norfolk; one stepdaughter, 
Mrs. Armittie Harlow of Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Swindell of Bath, 
N.C.,; Mrs. Lillie Jones of Pantego N.C.; Mrs. Effie Boomer of Norfolk, and 
Mrs. Bettie Canady of South Norfolk, and one grandson, Julian Bright of 
California.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Graham Funeral 
Home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
