The Virginian Pilot Sept. 22, 1956
Mrs. Jessie Coppersmith Land, 72, widow of Early Lee Land Sr. and daughter of 
the late Elisha and Mrs. Elizabeth Chory Coppersmith, died at a Norfolk 
hospital Thursday at 9:10 p.m.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. Aubrey Parker of Norfolk and Mrs. 
Marguerite E. Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.; a son, Early Lee Land Jr. of 
Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Willoughby Dozier of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a brother, 
Luther Coppersmith of Moyock, N.C.; five grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
Mrs. Land was a native of Pasquotank County, N.C., and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for 50 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
