Norfolk Virginian February 17, 1881
                            DIED AT THE HOSPITAL.
Mr. George Land, a steamboat engineer, well known in this vicinity and a former 
member of the United Artillery Company of this city, died at 4 a.m. yesterday at 
the Hospital of St. Vincent de Paul, where he had been undergoing medical 
treatment. His funeral took place yesterday afternoon from St. Paul's Episcopal 
Church and was attended by the surviving members of his company in which he served 
with credit throughout the late war.
