Virginian-Pilot October 20 & 21, 1964
NORFOLK - Mrs. Eileen East Land, 80, of 2910 Pretty Lake Ave., widow of George William 
Land, died Monday at 3 a.m. in a hospital.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Mrs. 
Maggie Griffith East.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Faltermeyer of San Juan, Puerto Rico; 
three brothers, Thomas O'Farrell East and William Whitney East of Norfolk and 
Cecil B. P. East of Charlottesville; a sister, Mrs. John H. Cornell of Norfolk; 
and a granddaughter.
The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
LAND, EILEEN EAST - At a local hospital, Monday, October 19th, 1964, at 3 a.m., 
EILEEN EAST LAND, widow of George William Land and daughter of the late Thomas 
Jefferson and Maggie Griffith East. Services at the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON at 2 p.m. Friends of the family are 
invited to attend. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.

From the Virginian-Pilot, Sunday, April 16, 1911:
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson East have issued invitations to the marriage of 
their daughter, Francis (sic) Eileen East, to Mr. George William Land, on the 
evening of Thursday, 27th day of April at 4 o'clock, the ceremony will take 
place at the home of the bride's parents, 3512 N. Granby street.
