Virgininian-Pilot December 9, 1977
NORFOLK — James Caleb Land, 74, of 6328 Virginia Beach Blvd., the husband of Mrs. 
Katherine Duke Land and a Norfolk native, died Thursday in a hospital.
He worked for Birtcherd Dairy, Inc., 43 years and retired. He was a member of 
Epworth United Methodist Church
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Abbott of Jacksonville, N.C , 
two sisters, Mrs. Lee S. Stewart and Mrs. Harry O. Waterfield, and a brother, 
Herbert M. Land, all of Norfolk, and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by Dr. Frances 
Garrett. Cox Funeral Home has charge. Memorial donations may be made to a charity 
of choice.
