Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch May 2, 1929
Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth Land, aged 66 years, died last night at 10:50 o'clock at the 
residence, 179 Dupont Circle. She was born in Princess Anne county, but for the 
last 30 years, had made her home in Norfolk.
Surviving her are three sons, J. W. of Savannah, Ga., Earlie and Carlton S. Land 
of Norfolk; five daughters, Mrs. Otto Tyler, Mrs. F. M. Sterne, Mrs. W. A. Bowden, 
Mrs. Betty Ayers and Miss Jessie Land, all of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. A. B. 
Holmes, and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Hollomon-Brown funeral 
home, corner Twenty-ninth and Granby streets. Interment will be in Elmwood 
cemetery.
