The Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 1, 1951
Walter Leo Land, 42, husband of Julia Freitas Land and son of Walter Samuel and 
the late Ellie Winters Land, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 4 p.m.
Besides his wife and father, he is survived by a daughter, Gladys Virginia 
Land; a son, Walter Emanuel Land; a sister, Mrs. Alton Hamlin, of Norfolk, and 
two brothers, J. Arthur Land, of Norfolk, and Edmund Land, of New York.
Mr. Land was a native of Fallsburg, N.Y. and had been a resident of Norfolk 
most of his life.  He resided at 223 Strand Street and had been in the employ 
of the Norfolk Southern Railway for 23 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown funeral Home tomorrow 
at 3:30 p.m.  Burial will be in the Riverside Memorial Park.
