NORFOLK — Mrs. Rafaelita Sanchez Land, 63, wife of Paul W. Land, died Tuesday at 
8:45 a.m., in her home at 828 W. 49th St.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., she lived in Norfolk since 1918. She was a 
daughter of Jose Ricardo and Mrs. Roselia Sanchez.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Besides her widower, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. C. Hudson Carper of 
Arlington; five sons, Clifton Morgan Hollingshead, Richard O. Land, Ralph J. 
Land, George S. Land and Paul A. Land of Norfolk; five sisters, Ms. Lucy Rael of 
Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. John Haley of Norfolk, Mrs. John Cervantes and Mrs. 
Alan Boyd of Albuquerque, and Mrs. Douglas MacNamee of Princeton, NJ.; three 
brothers, Richard J. Sanchez, Alfonso H. Sanchez and Juan O. Sanchez of Norfolk; 
and 18 grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A 
funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Church Thursday at 10 a.m., 
with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
