VIRGINIA BEACH - Richard D. Land, 58, of 4720 Broad St., Apt. 204, was killed in 
a traffic accident Sunday in Aurora, Neb.
A native of Norfolk, he was a long-distance truck driver and a former member of 
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Buley Land of Virginia Beach; three 
daughters, Mrs. Thelma L. Griggs and Mrs. Rafaelita I. Acela of Virginia Beach, 
and Mrs. Juanita A. Hadley of Oregon; five sons, Richard D. Land II of 
Washington, John B. Land and Arthur D. Land of Norfolk, Paul W. Land and Dennis 
J. Land of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Juanita L. Carper of Falls Church, 
Va.; four brothers, Clifton Hollingsher of Norfolk, Ralph J. Land of Maryland, 
George S. Land of Hampton, and Paul A. Land of Atlanta.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
Norfolk. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will be at 
the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30.
